Your Place in History Host your next event in this quaint white chapel located in the center of The Glen. Originally built at the Glenview Naval Air Station during World War II and named after Captain Richard A. Schram, a renowned Navy flier, this historic nondenominational chapel served as a house of worship for thousands of servicemen and women passing through this military base. After the Naval Air Station closed, the building was moved from its original location and painstakingly restored by the Village of Glenview and Kimball Hill Builders. Now owned by the Glenview Park District, it is available for rental by groups, individuals and organizations.

For Weddings
Exchange your wedding vows in this charming historic setting. Inside and out, every detail restored to its original beauty. Brightly polished wood floors and pew-style seating for 150. Sparkling stained glass windows depicting historic motifs. Musical selections on piano or organ. Ready to be embellished with the special touches to make this day your own.

For Special Ceremonies
The Schram Memorial Chapel is also well-suited for a variety of special ceremonies including bar and bat mitzvahs, memorial services and baptisms.

For Meetings, Presentations & Performances
Groups or organizations renting Schram Memorial Chapel may use the main floor room seating 150 or the lower room equipped with microwave and refrigerator which can accommodate 140. Tables and chairs are available to seat 90.

Rental Availability
The Schram Memorial Chapel is available for rental seven days a week.

Weekend rentals (Friday 3 pm - Sunday) may be scheduled up to 24 months in advance of the event date. A Ceremony Package including three hours on the rental date and an hour and a half rehearsal period (to be arranged) costs $475 (additional hours may be added at the rate of $238 per hour).

Weekday rentals (Monday through Thursday) are scheduled on a seasonal basis. Fee structure varies. Reservations are currently being taken for dates through March 2009.

Discount for Multiple Facility Rental
A 15% discount on the rental cost of Schram Memorial Chapel will be given to any renter booking a reception at Lakeview Room at Park Center, The Cafe at the Glenview Park Golf Club, the Redfield Estate at The Grove National Historic Landmark or the Wagner Farm Heritage Center.
