Residents
A resident is defined as any property owner or tenant and their immediate family members whose primary residence is located within the boundaries of the Glenview Park District. Individual property owners (either commercial or residential) will also be considered residents regardless of whether they reside inside or outside the boundaries of the Glenview Park District.

If you have never registered for a park district program before, you must submit a paper registration form along with a copy of one of the following documents as proof or residency in order to receive resident rates: a house purchase contract or apartment lease, a current utility or real estate tax bill, or a homeowners or rental insurance policy. A computerized Lottery is used to fill class lists and waiting lists at the beginning of each season. You must register by the Lottery registration deadline for that season to be included in this Lottery. Lottery registration (online or paper) for Spring 2010 programs must be received at Park Center, 2400 Chestnut Ave., Suite P, by Monday, Feb. 22 at 7:30 pm.

Lottery Registration Processing
As the majority of registrations are received shortly before the Lottery deadline, the processing of registrations may take several days beyond the Lottery deadline. Once all Lottery registrations have been processed, the computer then runs an electronic random draw. Enrollment confirmations are then mailed or e-mailed to all households participating in the Lottery.

Non-residents or residents who miss the lottery
Open Registration begins approximately two weeks after the lottery deadline. Both walk-in registration at Park Center, 2400 Chestnut, and online registration begin at 9 am. Registration received after the lottery deadline but before the beginning of Open Registration will be held and processed after walk-in customers have been served on the first day of Open Registration. Open Registration for Spring 2010 Programs will begin on Friday, March 5 at
9 am. Numbers will be distributed at 8:30 am.

Household Member Criteria
Anyone living at a residence located within the Glenview Park District is considered to be a member of that household.

NOTE: Nonresident program fees are 25% higher than resident fees.

Waiting List Policies and Second Choice Practices:

1. If you only select a first choice and it is full, your payment will be processed and you will be put on the waiting list for that section.

2. If you list a second choice option and your first choice is full, your payment will be processed and you will be placed into your second choice if there is an opening. If your second choice is also full, you will be placed on the waiting list of your first choice only.

3. Participants may only be added to a wait list section if they have not been accepted into another section of that same class. Once the participant has been accommodated into a section of the program, they may not maintain a waiting list spot on any other section for that same program.

4. Participants may be placed on a maximum of one waiting list section of any program.

To be added to a waiting list, a program registration form must be completed and the program fee paid in full. You may not be added to a waiting list by phone call or hand written note. The position on the waiting list is based upon when the registration form is processed by the District.

5. If after two meetings of the program, you have not been accommodated into the program, your payment will be refunded in full.

Transfers
Transfers are allowed after lotteries and up to 24 hours after the first class meeting. This timetable provides the flexibility for a participant to try a class while helping the District assess changes in class availability before too many classes have occurred.

Forms of Payment
The Glenview Park District accepts cash, checks, Mastercard, Visa and Discover card. If paying by check, the checks should be made payable to Glenview Park District. A $20 processing fee is charged for returned checks.

Confirmation
During the lottery registration period, you will receive a confirmation e-mail listing all the programs for your family and whether they have been enrolled in
the class or placed on the waiting list after the lottery has been run. Anyone registering during Open Registration will receive e-mail registration confirmation as soon as they have been placed in a program. The confirmation notice does not guarantee enrollment if the class does not fill and is cancelled. In the event your class is cancelled, you will be notified.

Insurance
The park district does not carry medical or accident insurance for program participants.

Waiver & Release Forms
The Glenview Park District is a member of a risk management agency for insurance coverage that requires all adult participants over age 18 or parents/guardians of participants under 18 to sign a Release of All Claims and Assumption of Risk Waiver in order to be enrolled in a park district program. The park district does not carry medical or accident insurance for program participants.

Photo Release
Photos and videos are periodically taken of people participating in Park District programs and activities. All persons registering for Park District programs/activities or using Park District property thereby agree that any photograph or videotape taken by the Park District may be used by the Park District for promotional purposes including its electronic media, videotapes, brochures, flyers and other publications without additional prior notice or permission and without compensation to the participant.

Reminder
Register early for programs! Some classes fill up very quickly. If you wait too long to register, it might be too late. Unfortunately, in some circumstances, we have no choice but to cancel a class if the minimum number of participants has not enrolled prior to start date.

Refund Policy
Refunds will be granted up to 24 hours after the first class meeting. A 10% cancellation charge of the total fee per program will be assessed, minimum amount assessed $5 and a maximum amount of $15 per program. After this time, no refunds will be granted except for medical purposes or change in residence (proof required) and there will be a pro-rated refund based upon number of classes held.

To request a refund, you may call 847-724-5670 or fill out a refund form which must be returned in person to Park Center, 2400 Chestnut Ave. For your convenience, you may download a refund form by clicking here. Your refund is not guaranteed until your refund request has been reviewed to determine refund eligibility and approved by the program supervisor.

These regulations apply to recreation and instructional programs throughout the park district. They do not apply to Summer Camp and Clinic Programs, daily admissions, memberships, rentals, trips, specialized services, continuing skill programs or programs such as Little Learners Preschool or Glenview Titan Aquatic Club. These services have specific policies as part of the information provided to the participant at the point of registration.

Leisureships (Scholarships)
