Brett Lebda, a member of the Stanley Cup winning Detroit Red Wings will be bringing the Stanley Cup to the Glenview Ice Center, 1851 Landwehr Rd. on Thursday, August 21. Each member of the team that wins the Stanley Cup is given the opportunity to take the Cup "home" with them so Lebda, who played youth hockey at the Glenview Ice Center, is bringing the Cup here. The public is invited to the Ice Center to see the Cup and may have their picture taken with Brett and the Stanley Cup for $25. Proceeds from the sale of photos will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. For more information, call (847) 724-2800.

The Glenview Ice Center features:

A 200’ x 85’ main rink and a 90’ x 60’ instructional rink for recreational public skating, figure skating and hockey instruction, figure skating competitions and exhibitions, hockey and broomball games, and parties and private rentals
Spectator seating in both rinks
The “Skate Street Cafe” for a snacks or meals
Skate rental offering both figure and hockey skates and helmets and sticks for use in class
Vending machines
Two multi-purpose rooms available for rentals, parties or meetings
Big Lou’s Pro Shop, servicing all your figure skating and hockey needs, including skate sharpening
