We are always happy to accept your application for a part-time or seasonal position! Applications for part-time / seasonal positions will be kept active for 12 months.

You must be at least 18 years old to work with tools, equipment, or machinery; at least 16 years old to be a lifeguard or camp counselor; and at least 15 years old with a valid work permit to work at our concession stands at our outdoor pools.

Common part-time /seasonal positions include:
Lifeguards, swim instructors, program instructors, preschool teachers, living history interpreters, sports officials, food service workers, personal trainers, fitness instructors, rental caretakers, birthday party leaders, and desk staff.

Customer Service Representative

JOB LOCATION: Park Center, 2400 Chestnut Ave., Glenview

JOB SUMMARY:
In this role, you will be responsible for providing front-line customer service to visitors and patrons and processing program registrations. This position will work a varied schedule which includes evening and alternating weekend work. Successful applicants will have:

Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills.
Ability to type at least 35 words per minute with high accuracy.
Knowledge and skills with computers and software (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Ability to learn additional software and systems required for business transactions.
Ability to work a varied schedule including some nights and weekends as required.
Fluency in a foreign language would be a plus (Spanish, Korean, or Polish).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Some college strongly preferred.
Experience: At least 3 years relevant experience required.

POSITION #1 is a year-round part time position working Tuesday & Thursday nights 4:45 pm – 8 pm and every other Saturday/Sunday 9 am – 3:30 pm.

POSITION #2 We are also looking for a 2nd person to work temporarily from early December – mid-January. Hours would be Monday & Wednesday nights from 4:45 pm – 8 pm and every other Saturday/Sunday from am- 3:30 pm. This person may have the opportunity to stay on staff after the conclusion of the temporary assignment as a substitute employee.

PAY RANGE : $9 - $10 / hour

Swim Team Coach - Glenview Titan Aquatic Club (GTAC)

JOB LOCATION: Park Center, 2400 Chestnut Ave., Glenview & Glenbrook South High School, 4000 W. Lake Ave.

JOB SUMMARY
GTAC is a competitive swim team program of the Glenview Park District with over 125 participants, ranging in age from 6 years to High School. The team is divided into 5 groups based on age and ability. In this role, you will directly oversee at least one group of the team and work closely with our 2 other coaches. The coach is responsible for instructing, guiding and mentoring swimmers at an age-appropriate level, developing practice plans, identifying swim upcoming swim meets and entering teams, and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates should have a strong background in age-group swim teams along with a minimum of 2 years coaching experience. Applicants should also be USS or USI members and have current lifeguard and CPR certifications along with strong computer skills.

SCHEDULING & PAY
Practices are held weeknights from 6:30 pm – 9 pm and Saturday mornings from 12 noon – 4 pm at the Glenbrook High School pool and Splash Landings from 4 pm – 6 pm on Tuesday and Thursdays. Swim meets are typically local and travel is limited to the immediate surrounding areas. This is a year-round position paying $8 - $15/hour based on qualifications and experience.
